Really good French toast brick. The fresh berry reduction with the fresh berries was a great combination. Sweet with just a little bit of sour. The bread had just a slight crust, and super soft on the inside. I would have preferred whip cream over the cream cheese (personally) but I would imagine someone that likes cream cheese would have really enjoyed it. I had a paoched egg, as well, that was cooked perfect. Overall, a nice experience.
Worth it for the atmosphere! But on the pricey side.
Autumn bourbon fizz and Mayton monarch drinks are amazing!
Appetizers are pretty small for the price.
Mushroom stuffed chicken with orzo was amazing and worth the price.
Fish tacos were underwhelming.
Gracie was our server and she’s so sweet! However, the waiting time for both apps and entrees was a bit long.
Overall a fun place for a girls night out!
Beautiful atmosphere & sweet server, food is good but the kitchen & bar haves issues getting our food to the table. We arrive to downtown Cary & had to look for parking, surprised that the Mayton Inn has no parking lot for the restaurant. Parked in community parking arrived a few minutes late for our 6:30 reservation to thriving busy restaurant. Seated on the our outdoor veranda & was attended to by Gracie, who was lovely. Ordered drinks & small plates and that’s when we started to have issues. Drinks took over 20 minutes to get to table & the cheese plate & shrimp took over an hour. Gracie came back and asked if we needed anything, but the kitchen was the issue. We realized we needed to order our mains, which we liked to do after we had our appetizers to gauge how hungry you are but felt the urgency because of the wait. The shrimp was good, like a shrimp boil tasty but needed more cocktail sauce and the cheese plate was full of fresh fruit, jam, healthy serving of cheese and honeycomb. The fish tacos were tasty and burger was also good but we actually took home most of them. My husband got the brûlée, because he can’t ever resist, which was enjoyable. Loved the outside but needs some soft music to drown out others, also a little buggy @ sundown but they provided us with fly scatter fans which helped but a great covered area which we will come back in the fall since they have heaters installed. All in all, if the kitchen could get food out faster, it would have gotten a better rating since all the food that we ate was good.
My husband made a reservation for my birthday another in advance. And then it was confirmed before the day of the reservation. While driving to the restaurant, they called to say that our specific request for seating had been bumped, and we would be seated somewhere else. My husband chose this restaurant because of the desired seating arrangement. So that was a bummer and really not cool. But besides that, the environment was beautiful, cozy, and intimate. Food and drinks were delicious. Server, fantastic. Will go again for dessert and drinks and the intimate setting.
So first off, this place is hands down a ringer for a date night. The atmosphere and entire vibe is something that makes you feel like you’re in Manhattan tucked away in a chic restaurant off Wall Street. They have a dining area, bar area with tables, and a social area complete with multiple couches, tables, books, and areas for gathering.
I will say the prices of said atmosphere come along with the experience.
The food tastes incredible, it’s just a tad pricey for what it is. BUT THE COCKTAILS. The cocktails are amazing and aptly priced for a place like this. We each ordered a few, the Honey Bee, Chai Times, and Berry Mojito. All were very well crafted.
We got the “Fish Sticks” (raw ahi tuna coated in panko and flash fried), the Rack of Lamb, and Grilled Snapper (special).
Just make sure to check the menu online to make sure you’re comfortable with the prices. We were, but that being said this place feels more like a social gathering where you order cocktails and apps.
I’d recommend giving this place a shot for an upscale experience.
Tried this place for brunch with a friend. The establishment was cozy yet really nice. That's about it.
If you're looking for a brunch place with a worthy menu, I'd suggest trying elsewhere. My friend's food was just okay as she stated. My food was rather subpar.
I had the French toast brick and two scrambled eggs. The French toast brick shouldn't be called that. There's nothing French toast about it. It's ridiculously sweet and it is truly more of a dessert better paired with vanilla ice cream. I didn't even finish it. The fruit concoction on top was over the top and that scoop of whatever placed on top of the fruit was rather gross. The eggs I had to ask for since it was not on the menu as an extra.
The service was okay. Nothing to really brag about.
If this review was solely based off our cocktails and appetizers, it would get 5 stars. Fried green tomatoes and smoked fried cheese were delightful. Loved the Honey Bee cocktail. Our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive.
But my Caesar salad was SO disappointing. The croutons tasted like sad grocery store croutons. The dressing was unremarkable. I paid $13 to add shrimp to it, and literally got *3* shrimp. This was not a $24 salad.
My husband and I were really looking forward to celebrating his birthday with breakfast at Peck and Plume. To say we were disappointed doesn’t even sum it up. We were going to be running about 4 minutes late for our 9:30 reservation so we called to let them know and were told that it was up to us to still come but their kitchen closes at 10. We were surprised they would take 9:30 reservations if they close at 10:00 and also very surprised at how abrupt the hostess was on the phone. We chalked it up to her having a bad day and went anyway. We were sat promptly and out in our orders quickly since we knew the kitchen was closing soon. My husband ordered the ham and cheese omelette. I asked for a ham and cheese scramble and was told it could be done. When the food came out I had an omelette instead of a scramble. The waitress knew this , and still brought the plate out even though she knew the order was wrong. I asked if she could please take it back(the sides were all incorrect as well). She brought the plate back in about 2 minutes, which I thought was weird. Until I looked down at my plate and saw that the chef had simply diced up the omelette. I gave up at that point and just decided to eat it(my sides were still incorrect so the waitress had to go back a third time to bring out sausage, which when brought out was ice cold and barely thawed) I start eating the chopped up omelette and start to taste onions which I didn’t ask for or care for. The waitress says it comes that way unless you ask for them to be left out, even though onions are not listed as an ingredient in the description of the item. I finally just sent all the food back and sat while my husband finished his breakfast. The waitress seemed to care very little. Towards the end of my husbands meal she finally came over to say my meal had been taken off the bill, and that the chef could remake my food. I was kind of done at this point and said no thank you. Overall just a really lackluster experience in a place we had high hopes for. When you’re paying $20+ for a meal you expect for the quality of the meal and the service to reflect the price. It’s a shame because the ambiance inside of the hotel is spectacular and really homey. We wanted to love it, but it was not what we’d hoped.
